Old Hoss Radbourn went the distance and King Kelly cleared three ducks from a
very crowded pond with a grand slam as the Boston Reds smashed the
overmatched Brooklyn Ward's Wonders, 15 to 2.

Kelly had a big day at the plate.  He hit a 'grand salami' to the delight of
his teammates in the 1st inning and hit a single which was good for two runs
in the 3rd inning.  Boston bats were hot in the 1st inning tallying 6 runs
and the 3rd inning which saw them plate 4 runs on 4 hits.  Boston totaled 11
hits on the afternoon.  

Radbourn(1-0), allowing 2 runs for the game, picked up the victory. Con
Murphy(0-1) was the losing pitcher.  He struggled with his control issuing 11
walks in 8 innings.
