Amos Rusie completed the game without help from the bullpen and first baseman
Roger Connor had 2 base hits at Boundary Field where the New York Giants beat
the Washington Senators by the score of 4 to 2.

New York took the lead for good in the top of the 4th inning when they scored
2 runs on 2 hits.  The crucial at-bat was provided by George Davis who
disappointed the partisan crowd when he tripled scoring two baserunners.
Both teams ended up with 9 hits on the afternoon.  

Rusie(1-1) got the victory, allowing 2 runs for the game. Charlie Petty(0-1)
took the loss.  He gave up 6 hits and 3 walks in 8 and 1/3 innings.
