Shortstop Honus Wagner had 3 base hits at Sportsman'S Park as the New York-NL
Giants beat the St. Louis-AL Browns by the count of 5 to 4.

New York-NL scored 3 runs in the top of the 3rd inning when they had 3 base
hits. They would be enough to earn the win. St. Louis-AL threatened in the
9th but New York-NL was able to put down the rally.

Jack Powell(1-2) was the winner allowing 4 runs in 8 innings. Bill Bernhard
earned his 1st save. The losing pitcher was Davey Dunkle(0-2). He got hit
pretty hard, allowing 12 hits and 2 walks in 8 innings.

When questioned about the loss, Tim Singer said, 'The fans got to see an
exciting game out there this afternoon. Unfortunately, we couldn't get it
done this time. Next time, though, we'll be the clubhouse with all the
smiles.'
