Larry Doby connected with a 'big fly' and had 4 RBI at Crosley Field where the
Cincinnati Reds beat the Chicago-NL Cubs 12 to 3.

Doby enjoyed a big evening at the plate.  He doubled which plated a run in the
3rd inning and belted a three-run homer in the 5th inning.  Overall
Cincinnati out-hit Chicago-NL 15 to 7.  

Ken Raffensberger(1-0) got the win allowing 2 runs in 5 innings. Russ Meyer
got the save, his 1st.  Harry Brecheen(0-1) absorbed the loss.  He was unable
to control the Cincinnati offense and allowed 7 hits and 2 walks in 2
innings.
