WEB GEMS- Bot 5th: Johnny Logan robbed Jim Wilson of a base hit.

Mike Garcia held Boston-AL scoreless on just 3 hits as the Philadelphia-AL
Athletics topped the Boston-AL Red Sox by a score of 5 to 0 at Fenway
Park.

Garcia(1-0) was virtually untouchable. He gave up just 3 hits and 1 walk in 9
innings. Philadelphia-AL had a total of 11 hits for the game.

Jim Wilson(0-1) suffered the loss. Garcia was obviously very pleased with his
performance in the aftermath of the game, 'It was just one of those games
where everything worked. My arm felt great, heck, I could have pitched
another two or three innings. I only hope that I can do it again next time
out!'
