St. Louis-AL won the game with a run in the 8th inning. Clyde Milan delivered a single. Milan took his lead and swiped second. Two outs later Bobby Wallace came to the plate and lined a single scoring the run. Washington had a chance in the 9th but they came up short. The win was credited to Lew Richie(1-1) who went 8 innings allowing 1 run. Harry Coveleski gained credit for his 1st save. Andy Coakley(0-1) took the loss. 'I always am most impressed when a pitcher finds a way to win even without his best stuff,' Tim Singer said after the game. 'Richie did not have command of his pitches most of the afternoon, but he proved he really knew how to pitch!'
