Andy Pafko launched 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI as the Philadelphia-AL Athletics
beat the Pittsburgh Pirates by a score of 9 to 3.

Pafko really lit it up for Philadelphia-AL.  The Pittsburgh fans let him have
it for what he did to their boys.  He clubbed a three-run home run in the 4th
inning and popped a two-run clout over the fence in the 7th inning.
Philadelphia-AL had 14 hits for the afternoon while Pittsburgh had 8.  

Carl Scheib(1-0) got the win allowing 3 runs in 6 innings. Ed Lopat(1-3) was
given the loss.  He served up 3 gopher balls in 8 innings.
