In a good matchup it was the Chicago Colts 4, the Cincinnati Reds 2 at League
Park.

Chicago started with a bang, jumping out to an early lead in their half of the
first scoring one runner.  Both teams finished the game with 9 hits.  

The victory went to Walter Thornton(1-0) who went 8 innings, allowing 2 runs.
Doc Parker recorded his 1st save.  Frank Dwyer(0-3) suffered the loss.  

'I struggled a bit out there today,' Thornton said, 'but I toughed it out and
we got the win.'
