Noodles Hahn was able to finish what he started and was credited with a
complete game and right fielder Sam Mertes had 2 base hits and 5 RBI as the
Cincinnati Reds topped the Philadelphia-AL Athletics by a score of 10 to 3 at
Columbia Park.

Cincinnati started with a bang, jumping out to an early lead in their half of
the first as they scored 3 runs on 3 base hits.  The biggest moment was
provided by Doc Casey who helped quiet the crowd when he tripled scoring two
baserunners.  Cincinnati rapped out 10 hits for the afternoon.  

The victory was credited to Hahn(1-1) who went the distance, allowing 3 runs.
Roy Patterson(1-1) ended up with the loss.  He allowed a few too many
baserunners giving up 10 hits and 3 walks in 6 innings.
