Jack Taylor completed the game without help from the bullpen as the Chicago
Cubs topped the Pittsburgh Pirates by a score of 9 to 3 at West Side
Park.

Chicago started with a bang, jumping out to an early lead in their half of the
first plating one baserunner.  Pittsburgh had 11 hits in the game while
Chicago had 7, but Chicago had the more timely hits.  

The winning pitcher was Taylor(3-0) who allowed 3 runs for the game. Cy
Falkenberg(0-1) was the losing pitcher.  He struggled with his control
issuing 11 walks in 7 innings.
