Max Carey homered and had 2 RBI at Palace of the Fans as the Boston-AL Red Sox
beat the Cincinnati Reds 6 to 4.

Boston-AL scored the winning runs in the 8th inning with 2 runs on 4 base
hits.  Shoeless Joe Jackson opened up the inning nicely when he lined a
one-base hit.  Duffy Lewis stepped up to the plate and he laid down a
sacrifice bunt.  Jim Delahanty then stroked a base-hit scoring a single run.
One out later, Newt Hunter came up and he stroked a single.  Roger Bresnahan
stepped into the box and doubled scoring the final run of the inning.
Boston-AL finished with 15 hits while Cincinnati ended up with 8.  

The win went to Doc Crandall(3-0) who allowed no runs in 2 and 1/3 innings.
Charley Hall earned the save, his 1st.  The losing pitcher was Ed
Summers(1-1) in relief.
