Boardwalk Brown pitched a complete game and second baseman Eddie Collins had 4
hits as the blistering-hot Philadelphia Athletics defeated the Washington
Nationals in 11 innings by a score of 4 to 3 at Shibe Park.

The game was deadlocked at 2 after nine full innings.  Philadelphia ended up
winning it in the 11th inning.  Amos Strunk led off and started the rally
when he doubled.  Eddie Murphy followed and he bombed a two-run dinger making
Philadelphia victorious to the delight of the the home town crowd.
Philadelphia had a total of 9 hits for the game.  

Brown(2-1) finished the game allowing 3 runs in the victory. The losing
pitcher was Tom Drohan(0-1) in relief.  He pitched 1 inning giving up 2 hits
and no walks.
