Catcher Walter Blair had 4 hits as the Buffalo Blues staged a dramatic
comeback over the Newark Peppers by a score of 7 to 6 at Harrison
Field.

Buffalo came up with the deciding runs in the top of the 9th inning with 3
runs on 3 base hits. After two outs Baldy Louden initiated the scoring spurt
when he drew a walk. Blair stepped up next and he laced a base-hit. Tex
McDonald then doubled knocking in a run. Fred Smith was up next and he was
walked intentionally to load the bases. Roxey Roach stepped into the box and
banged out a single which accounted for two additional runs. Rube Marshall
relieved and was untouched by Newark as he recorded the save, his 1st.

The victory went to Howard Ehmke(1-1) who went 1/3 of an inning, allowing no
runs. George Mullin(0-2) was charged with the loss. He got hit hard,
allowing 13 hits and 4 walks in 8 and 2/3 innings.

Harry Lord was very happy after the game, 'It's great to come back and win it
in your last at bats! Our guys just wouldn't give up. And did you see the
fans - one minute they're laughing and screaming down all sorts of
unprintable stuff at our guys - the next minute - SILENCE! Yes sir, a very
enjoyable win this afternoon!'
