John Clarkson completed the game without help from the bullpen and Herman Long
had 4 hits and 2 RBI as the Boston Beaneaters bested the reeling Washington
Senators 9 to 3 at Boundary Field.

Boston took the lead for keeps in the 3rd inning as they scored 2 runs on 1
base hits.  The Boston offense poured it on, scoring in 7 of the 9 innings.

The winning pitcher was Clarkson(3-1) who allowed 3 runs for the game. Hank
Gastright(0-2) was hit with the loss.  He allowed a few too many baserunners
giving up 14 hits and 5 walks in 9 innings.
