Joe McGinnity was able to finish what he started and was credited with a
complete game and Jimmy Sheckard had 4 hits and 2 RBI as the Brooklyn
Superbas beat the Philadelphia Phillies by a score of 14 to 5.

Sheckard led the offense for Brooklyn.  He tripled in the 1st inning, doubled
which brought home a run in the 5th inning, stroked a one-base hit in the 6th
inning and banged out a single knocking in a run in the 7th inning.  The
Brooklyn offense was great, scoring in 7 of the 9 innings.  

The win was credited to McGinnity(2-0) who went the whole way allowing 5 runs.
Al Orth(2-1) absorbed the loss.  He allowed a few too many baserunners giving
up 19 hits and 2 walks in 9 innings.
