Right fielder Jesse Burkett had 3 base hits as the Washington Senators
defeated the Boston-AL Americans in 11 innings by a score of 5 to 4 at
American League Park.

Both teams had scored 4 runs after nine full innings. Washington ended up
winning it in the 11th inning.  Nixey Callahan slapped a one-base hit.  Danny
Green stepped up to the plate and he doubled giving Washington the win as 998
happy fans joyfully celebrated.  Washington totaled 10 hits on the afternoon.

Beany Jacobson(1-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 2 innings and
allowing no runs. Jack Dunleavy(0-1) ended up with the loss in relief.  He
allowed 1 run and 2 hits in 1 inning.
