Chief Meyers had 3 base hits and Rube Marquard pitched a complete game as the
New York Giants beat the Boston Rustlers in 10 innings by a score of 3 to
2.

The score was tied at 2 after nine.  New York came out on top in the 10th
inning.  Meyers doubled.  After another out, Josh Devore followed, but he was
set down on strikes.  Larry Doyle then stroked a base-hit resulting in an
exciting win for New York and a raucous post-game celebration by the home
town fans.  New York had 9 hits for the afternoon.  

Marquard(2-0) allowed 2 runs on the game. Buster Brown(2-1) was tagged with
the loss.  He pitched 9 and 2/3 innings allowing 9 hits and 3 walks.

'I just wanted to give my team a chance to win.' said Marquard, 'I got burned
on a couple of pitches. But we won the game, and that's all that matters.'
