Dick Egan had 2 base hits and 2 RBI and Doc Crandall came through with a solid
9 innings as the Boston-AL Red Sox beat the Washington Nationals by a score
of 4 to 1.

Washington was unable to climb back into it after Boston-AL went ahead for
good in the 5th inning when they scored 2 runs on 3 hits.  Boston-AL managed
10 hits in their victory.  

The win went to Crandall(3-0) who allowed 1 run in the game. Eddie
Cicotte(0-2) suffered the loss.  He allowed 4 runs and 8 hits in 5 and 2/3
innings.
