Third baseman Red Smith hit 2 doubles and had 2 RBI and Dutch Leonard was able
to finish what he started and was credited with a complete game as the
Detroit Tigers topped the Chicago-NL Cubs in 10 innings by a score of 3 to 2
at Navin Field.

The game was deadlocked at 2 after nine full innings. Finally, Detroit
prevailed in the 10th inning.  Tilly Walker doubled.  Shano Collins came next
and he laid down a sacrifice bunt.  Johnny Evers then would hit into a
fielders choice resulting in an exciting win for Detroit and a raucous
post-game celebration by the home town fans.  Detroit had only 5 hits for the
afternoon.  

The win went to Leonard(1-2) who allowed 2 runs in the game. Willie
Mitchell(0-1) was given the loss in relief.  He pitched 2 and 1/3 innings
allowing 2 hits and 1 walk.
