Left fielder Hoot Evers smashed 2 homeruns and had 6 RBI as the Pittsburgh
Pirates came back to win one over New York-AL Yankees, 10 to 7.

Evers had a great evening at the plate. He hit a bases-empty home run in the
2nd inning, doubled knocking in a run in the 8th inning and bombed a two-run
dinger in the 9th inning. For the game Pittsburgh out-hit New York-AL 15 to
7.

The win was credited to Allie Reynolds(1-2) who went 7 innings allowing 5
runs. Bob Kuzava(1-1) took the loss in relief. He allowed a few too many
baserunners giving up 7 hits and 3 walks in 3 innings.

'I've spent a lot of time in the cage and made some adjustments and they've
paid off,' Evers said. 'I just take the same approach up there. I don't
overanalyze it. I go up there, see the ball and try to put a good swing on
it.'
