Left fielder Tom Gettinger had 4 hits and 3 RBI and Ice Box Chamberlain
shutout Columbus while allowing the St. Louis bullpen a day-off as the St.
Louis Browns crushed the Columbus Solons 12 to 0.

Gettinger had a good day at the plate.  He tripled plating a run in the 1st
inning, delivered a single resulting in a run in the 2nd inning, doubled in
the 5th inning and stroked a one-base hit which scored a run in the 6th
inning.  St. Louis banged out 10 hits on the afternoon.  

Chamberlain(1-1) went the distance for the shutout. The losing pitcher was
Jack Easton(1-3).  He got hit hard, allowing 9 hits and 4 walks in 5 and 1/3
innings.
