Lajoie helped send the fans home happy. He doubled knocking in a run in the 3rd inning, doubled scoring two baserunners in the 6th inning and doubled plating a run in the 8th inning. Philadelphia lit up the scoreboard in the 3rd inning when they had 4 runs on 3 hits, the 6th inning which saw them plate 4 runs on 3 hits and the 8th inning which saw them score 5 runs on 3 hits. Philadelphia rapped out 13 hits for the afternoon. Donahue(2-0) was credited with the shutout, his first of the year. Ed Doheny(0-1) absorbed the loss. He allowed a few too many baserunners giving up 13 hits and 5 walks in 7 and 2/3 innings. 'When Donahue is on like that it is a tough game to play, no doubt about it,' George Davis said.
