Jim Stephens hit 2 doubles and had 2 RBI and Pete Alexander allowed Brian
Capsello to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game at Sportsman'S Park as
the New York-NL Giants, running on all cylinders, ripped the St. Louis-AL
Browns by a large 13 to 1 margin.

Alexander(1-0) had a strong outing.  He didn't give up much, just 6 hits and 2
walks in 9 innings.  Neither team was able to score until the 6th inning.

The losing pitcher was Ed Reulbach(0-2).  He was knocked around pretty good,
giving up 9 runs in 8 innings.
