Third baseman Home Run Baker had 5 hits and 5 RBI as the Philadelphia-AL
Athletics defeated the Cincinnati Reds 8 to 3 at Shibe Park.

Baker provided much of the offense.  He stroked a base-hit which plated a run
in the 1st inning, slapped a single which brought home a run in the 3rd
inning, tripled bringing home two baserunners in the 4th inning, slapped a
one-base hit bringing in a run in the 6th inning and stroked a base-hit in
the 8th inning.  Cincinnati was out-hit by Philadelphia-AL, 14 hits to 11.

The victory was credited to Buck O'Brien(1-1) who went 7 innings, allowing 2
runs. Hugh Bedient(1-2) was hit with the loss.  He was not very effective,
surrendering 7 runs in 4 innings.
