Pete Daniels had 2 base hits and scored 3 times as the Pittsburg Alleghenys
bested the Chicago Colts in 10 innings 12 to 8 at West Side Park.

The score was tied at 8 after nine.  Finally, Pittsburg prevailed in the 10th
inning.  The big moment was provided by Charlie Gray who silenced West Side
Park as he lashed a single bringing in two baserunners.  It was roller
coaster of a game as the lead change hands 5 times.  

Gray(1-0) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1 and 1/3 innings. Ed
Eiteljorge(0-1) ended up with the loss in relief.  He pitched 1 inning
allowing 6 hits and 1 walk.
