Kid Carsey went the distance as the Washington Statesmen outscored the
Baltimore Orioles 12 to 9.

Washington went ahead for good in the 3rd inning when they scored 2 runs on 2
hits. The key offensive moment was provided by Paul Hines who deflated the
crowd as he lined a single plating two runs. The Washington offense was as
consistent as it was powerful. They scored in every inning, making a joke of
the Baltimore pitching.

Carsey(3-4) lasted until the end allowing 9 runs for the win. Bert
Cunningham(5-2) was hit with the loss. He was not very effective,
surrendering 12 runs in 9 innings.
