TEAM RISP- Pirates: 4 for 24 Reds: 7 for 18

Heinie Peitz had 4 hits at League Park where the Cincinnati Reds beat the
Pittsburg Pirates in 13 innings by the score of 6 to 5.

Both teams were tied at 4 runs apiece after nine innings. Cincinnati came out
on top in the 13th inning. After an out was recorded, Charlie Irwin
initiated the scoring spurt when he ripped a single. Irwin took off for
second and slid in with a stolen base. Claude Ritchey then delivered a
base-hit scoring a run. Bug Holliday stepped in and he delivered a single.
Eddie Burke followed, but he was set down on strikes. Pop Schriver added to
the uprising and drew a walk to load the bases. Bid McPhee was next and he
hit a single giving Cincinnati the victory and sending the 7,561 home-town
fans home happy. It was roller coaster of a game as the lead change hands 6
times.

The winning pitcher was Bill Dammann(3-0) who allowed 1 run in 2 innings. Jim
Gardner(1-1) was the loser in relief. Cincinnati continued their winning
ways, with their streak now at 6 games and counting. Patsy Donovan was upset
but philosophical about the loss. 'Sometimes you run into a team that's on a
roll. This was one of those times.'
