Right fielder George Stone had 2 base hits and Wild Bill Donovan delivered 8

Washington Nationals 2 to 0.

Detroit claimed the early lead in the first inning plating an isolated run
using 2 hits. That was all Donovan(2-1) needed. Both teams' bats went to
sleep after the 4th inning with no runs scored after that point.

Jesse Tannehill recorded the save, his 1st. The losing pitcher was Bob
Ewing(2-3). It was a tough loss for him as he did not allow an earned run in
his 8 innings of work.
