In a close game the Philadelphia Phillies got by the Brooklyn Superbas by the
score of 4 to 2.

Philadelphia had the game winning rally in the top of the 9th inning scoring 2
runs on 3 hits.  After an out was recorded, Mickey Doolin started the attack
as he banged out a single.  Kid Gleason stepped into the batter's box and he
ripped a single.  After another out, Ernie Courtney then ripped a base-knock
driving in a run.  Gleason stole third and scored when the ball ended up in
the outfield scoring the final run of the inning.  For the game Philadelphia
out-hit Brooklyn 11 to 4.  

Bill Duggleby(3-0) was the winner allowing 2 runs in 8 innings. Duggleby was
helped out by Tully Sparks who recorded his 1st save.  The losing pitcher was
Elmer Stricklett(1-4).
