Larry Gardner had 4 hits and 4 RBI as the New York-NL Giants bested the
Brooklyn Dodgers 14 to 5 at Washington Park.

Gardner provided the offensive punch.  He tripled knocking in a run in the 1st
inning, ripped a base-knock which brought home a run in the 3rd inning,
slapped a base-hit scoring a run in the 7th inning and tripled bringing in a
run in the 9th inning.  New York-NL had many opportunities throughout the
game and scored in 6 separate innings.  

Pete Alexander(1-2) got credit for the victory, pitching 7 and 2/3 innings and
allowing 5 runs. Jean Dubuc(1-2) was the losing pitcher.  He was hit hard and
gave up 8 hits and 4 walks in 4 innings.
