Wally Westlake went yard and had 2 RBI at Cleveland Stadium as the
blistering-hot Cleveland Indians won a thriller over the reeling Pittsburgh
Pirates in, 6 to 4.

Cleveland scored the decisive runs in a big bottom of the 9th inning plating 2
runs using 2 hits.  Elmer Valo led off the inning for Cleveland when he laced
a single.  Elmer Riddle followed next and he laid down a sacrifice bunt.
After another out, Westlake then popped a two-run clout over the fence making
Cleveland the winners and sending the 17,200 fans home happy.  Cleveland
banged out 12 hits on the afternoon.  

The victory went to Riddle(2-0) who went 2 innings, allowing no runs. Vic
Lombardi(0-2) was hit with the loss in relief.  He pitched 1 and 2/3 innings
allowing 4 hits and 2 walks.

In another of a string of victories, Cleveland extended their winning streak
to 7 games.
