Win Mercer was able to finish what he started and was credited with a complete
game at Boundary Field as the Washington Senators beat the Brooklyn Grooms 2
to 1.

Washington brought 1 run across the plate in the 5th inning.  Brooklyn had a
chance to come back in the 9th but they came up short.  

Mercer(2-0) allowed 1 run on the game. Dan Daub(0-2) was tagged with the loss.
'Some losses are harder to take than others' Dave Foutz lamented after the
game.  'This was one of them.'
