Right fielder Buck Freeman launched 2 homeruns and had 7 RBI and George Winter
had a complete game as the Boston Americans beat the Philadelphia Athletics
by a score of 10 to 4.

Freeman punished Philadelphia with his bat.  He clubbed a two-run home run in
the 3rd inning, doubled bringing home two baserunners in the 5th inning and
clubbed a three-run home run in the 8th inning.  Boston rapped out 13 hits
for the afternoon.  

The victory went to Winter(2-1) who went the distance allowing 4 runs. Eddie
Plank(1-2) was the loser.  He allowed a few too many baserunners giving up 13
hits and 4 walks in 8 innings.  

'The ball was jumping off my bat' Freeman said.  'I didn't do anything
differently, it's the same way I always approach the game.'
