Dixie Walker went 9 strong innings at American League Park as the Washington
Nationals won in their last at-bat beating the Boston Red Sox by the count of
2 to 1.

The game was won by Washington with a run in the 9th inning. Clyde Milan
laced a base-hit, and an error was also committed. Germany Schaefer followed
and he would hit into a fielders choice resulting in an exciting win for
Washington and a raucous post-game celebration by the home town fans. The
game was a scoreless duel until the 7th inning.

Walker(1-2) allowed 1 run on the game. The loss was charged to Ed Karger(1-1).
It was a tough loss for him as he did not allow an earned run in his 8
innings of work.

'I've been working on a few things in my delivery, and I think I'm hitting a
good groove.' Walker said after the game. 'I'm ready to start another game
tomorrow!'
