Heinie Zimmerman left the yard and had 4 RBI and Jimmy Lavender went the
distance as the seemingly unstoppable Chicago Cubs defeated the Cincinnati
Reds 7 to 1 at West Side Park.

It was a good day for Chicago thanks to Zimmerman.  He delivered a one-base
hit in the 2nd inning, ripped a base-hit plating two runs in the 3rd inning
and lifted one out of the park for a two run home run in the 7th inning.
Chicago had 13 hits for the afternoon.  

Lavender(1-0) got the victory, allowing 1 run for the game. George Suggs(0-3)
was charged with the loss.  He was unable to control the Chicago offense and
allowed 13 hits and 2 walks in 8 innings.
