Mike Griffin had 2 base hits and 3 RBI as the Brooklyn Grooms bested the
Washington Senators 12 to 11 at Boundary Field.
George Sharrott(1-0) was lucky to get the win as he struggled out there this
afternoon. He gave up 11 runs in 6 and 1/3 innings and gave up 3 homeruns.
The Washington batters didn't put up a fight in the bottom of the 9th.
Sharrott got relief help from Brickyard Kennedy who gained credit for his 1st
save. Ben Stephens(0-2) was tagged with the loss. He got hammered, allowing
12 hits and 5 walks in 6 and 2/3 innings.
