Lew Richie pitched a complete game and Ed Lennox had 3 base hits and 4 RBI as
the red-hot Chicago Cubs defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates by a score of 9 to 2
at Forbes Field.

The Pittsburgh fans didn't appreciate the big day Lennox had. He tripled
bringing in two baserunners in the 1st inning, laced a base-knock which
scored a run in the 3rd inning and ripped a single which plated a run in the
7th inning. Chicago had a total of 12 hits for the game.

Richie(3-0), allowing 2 runs for the game, picked up the victory. Babe
Adams(0-3) took the loss. He was unable to control the Chicago offense and
allowed 12 hits and 3 walks in 9 innings.

Chicago continued their winning ways, with their streak now at 8 games and
counting.
