Eddie Foster had 3 base hits and 4 RBI at Shibe Park where the Washington
Nationals beat the Philadelphia Athletics in 11 innings 8 to 7.

The score was knotted at 7 after nine innings. Washington won the hard fought
contest in the 11th inning. Danny Moeller lined a one-base hit. Foster came
next and he smacked a single. Clyde Milan then slapped a base-hit, and an
error was also committed, scoring the run. This was a game of many highs and
lows for the home town fans, as the lead kept changing - 5 times in all.

Jack Bentley(1-0) was the winner allowing 1 run in 3 innings. The loss was
charged to Chief Bender(1-1) in relief. He allowed a few too many
baserunners giving up 6 hits and 5 walks in 3 innings.
