Left fielder Jeff Heath had 4 hits and 2 RBI at Sportsman's Park where the
Washington Nationals beat the St. Louis Cardinals in 10 innings 4 to 3.

Both teams had scored 2 runs after nine full innings.  Washington won the hard
fought contest in the 10th inning.  Ken Keltner led off and started the rally
when he delivered a base-hit, and an error was also committed.  Heath next to
the plate and he popped a two-run clout over the fence.  For the game
Washington out-hit St. Louis 17 to 8.  

Kirby Higbe(3-0) picked up the victory, allowing 1 run in 4 and 1/3 innings.
Russ Christopher recorded his 1st save.  The losing pitcher was Monk
Dubiel(2-1) in relief.
