Bill Everitt went deep and had 4 RBI as the Chicago Colts defeated the St.
Louis Browns by a score of 10 to 9 at West Side Park.

Everitt provided much of the offense. He stroked a one-base hit in the 3rd
inning, lofted a three-run 'big-fly' in the 4th inning and doubled which
scored a run in the 5th inning. St. Louis made it exciting in the 9th, but
they were unable to push the needed runs across.

Walter Thornton(2-0) went 6 and 1/3 innings allowing 5 runs for the win.
Buttons Briggs earned his 2nd save. Ted Breitenstein(2-3) was the loser. He
allowed a few too many baserunners giving up 17 hits and 3 walks in 8
innings.

'We didn't get the key hits when we needed them' Tommy Dowd said. 'We did what
we could, we just didn't pull out the win. What can you say?'
