Sam Leever allowed Fred Clarke to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game as
the Pittsburgh Pirates topped the St. Louis Cardinals by a score of 10 to 3
at Exposition Park.

Pittsburgh took the lead for good in the 4th inning plating 3 runs using 3
hits. Jack O'Connor started the inning off right when he delivered a
base-hit. Leever stepped into the batter's box and he reached on an error.
Lefty Davis then laid down a sacrifice bunt. Clarke came up and he was
walked intentionally to load the bases. Wid Conroy came up to bat and
stroked a single knocking in a run. Conroy took second on the throw. Honus
Wagner kept the inning going and laced a single, and an error was also
committed, with two more runners crossing home. Pittsburgh had a total of 11
hits for the game.

Leever(3-0), allowing 3 runs for the game, picked up the victory. Bob
Wicker(0-3) was hit with the loss. He allowed 11 hits and 8 walks in 8
innings.
