Joe Tinker had 2 base hits and 2 RBI at Forbes Field where the red-hot Chicago
Cubs beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 7 to 4.

Chicago jumped on top to stay in the top of the 5th inning scoring one runner
using 2 hits.  Chicago and Pittsburgh each finished the afternoon with 11
hits.  

The win was credited to Harry McIntire(3-0) who went 8 and 2/3 innings
allowing 4 runs. Jimmy Lavender was credited with his 1st save.  Marty
O'Toole(1-1) suffered the loss.  His ERA increased from 2.70 to 3.04 as he
allowed 5 runs in 7 innings.
