Wilbur Cooper went the distance at Forbes Field as the Pittsburgh Pirates won
a thriller over the Cincinnati Reds in, 5 to 4.

The game was decided in the 9th inning.  After an out was recorded, Joe Kelly
doubled.  Max Carey next to the plate and he lined a one-base hit giving
Pittsburgh the win as 3,893 happy fans joyfully celebrated.  Pittsburgh
totaled 10 hits on the afternoon.  

Cooper(2-1) got the victory, allowing 4 runs for the game. King Lear(1-3) was
the losing pitcher in relief.  Wth the win Pittsburgh now has a record of
8-6.  Cincinnati has a record of 8-7 after the loss.
