After an out was recorded, Chief Wilson came to bat and drew a walk. Dots Miller then delivered a single to load the bases. Lee Magee followed and he laced a one-base hit scoring two baserunners. Cozy Dolan stepped into the box and hit a deep fly scoring the final run of the inning. Despite losing, Chicago out-hit St. Louis 15 to 12. Bill Steele(2-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 1 and 2/3 innings and allowing 3 runs. Steele got help from Pol Perritt who was credited with his 2nd save. Hippo Vaughn(1-2) took the loss in relief.
