smoking-hot Boston Red Sox beat the Cincinnati Reds 6 to 0.
Barney(6-1) came through with a virtuoso performance against the Cincinnati
hitters. He was stingy on the mound, allowing just 1 hit and 6 walks in 9
innings lowering his ERA from 2.78 to 2.32. The right-handed Barney lost his
no-hit bid when Barney McCosky doubled with nobody out in the 6th inning.
