35,847 fans watched an exciting game at Yankee Stadium.  The New York-AL
Yankees topped the Chicago-NL Cubs by the slimmest of margins, 5 to 4.

The score was tied at 4 after nine.  New York-AL won the game in the 12th
inning.  After an out was recorded, Mickey Mantle drew a walk.  Mantle took
his lead and swiped second.  One out later, Minnie Minoso then doubled giving
New York-AL the win as 35,847 happy fans joyfully celebrated.  New York-AL
totaled 9 hits on the afternoon.  

Bob Kuzava(3-1) went 3 and 1/3 innings allowing no runs for the win. Clem
Labine(2-1) was the loser in relief.  Wth the win New York-AL now has a
record of 17-22.  With the loss, Chicago-NL has a record of 5-5 lately, 18-25
overall.
