The Cincinnati Reds pitching staff was overwhelmed by the Philadelphia-AL
Athletics lineup who plated 15 runs while Bob Lemon(6-3), with relief help
from Camilo Pascual, surrendered 2 runs to Cincinnati.

Irv Noren led the offense for Philadelphia-AL.  He delivered a single in the
1st inning, blasted a two-run home run in the 7th inning and doubled bringing
in a run in the 8th inning.  Philadelphia-AL provided plenty of action in the
6th inning with 6 runs on 5 hits and the 7th inning which saw them plate 4
runs on 6 hits.  Philadelphia-AL had 18 hits for the game and Cincinnati had
5.
