Don Larsen allowed Gordy Renaud to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game
at Ebbets Field where the Washington Nationals beat the Brooklyn Dodgers 4 to
3.

Larsen(3-2) pitched a fine game.  He went 9 innings allowing 5 hits and 4
walks improving his ERA from 4.50 to 4.24.  Washington banged out 10 hits on
the afternoon.  

Ray Narleski(3-2) was charged with the loss in relief.  He was the victim of a
defensive lapse and did not allow an earned run in the game.  

Washington now has a record of 12-19.  With this loss, Brooklyn has a 4-6
record of late, 13-22 overall.
