Field.  The final score was 5 to 3.

Both teams had scored 3 runs after nine full innings.  Chicago-NL came out on
top in the 12th inning.  After an out was recorded, Cal Abrams initiated the
scoring spurt when he reached on an error.  One out later, Roy Smalley came
up and he bombed a two-run dinger making Chicago-NL the winners and sending
the 35,502 fans home happy.  New York-AL had 14 hits in the game while
Chicago-NL had 9, but Chicago-NL had the more timely hits.  

Leo Kiely(1-0) was the winner allowing no runs in 3 innings. Dick Hall(0-1)
