WEB GEMS- Top 1st: Bill Dahlen robbed Kid Nance of a base hit.

Bill Magee allowed Fred Clarke to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game at
West Side Park as the Louisville Colonels beat the Chicago Orphans by the
count of 10 to 4.

The game started off with Louisville taking the lead in the first with 2 runs
on 3 hits. Clarke got things going when he lined a single. Claude Ritchey
came to the plate and laced a single. After an out was recorded, Honus
Wagner then doubled scoring a single run. Kid Nance followed next and he
would ground out scoring the final run of the inning. Louisville bats were
very productive in the 6th inning when they had 5 runs on 5 hits. Louisville
had a total of 21 hits for the game.

Magee(2-0) got the victory, allowing 4 runs for the game. Buttons Briggs(1-2)
was charged with the loss. He allowed a few too many baserunners giving up
21 hits and 3 walks in 8 and 2/3 innings.
